Annual Meeting and Election of Officers Oct. 20thPlease join us for the annual membership meeting and potluck supper of the Pittsford Historical Society to be held Sunday, Oct. 20th 5:30 p.m. at the Congregational Church. Jean Harvie, treasurer of the Society, will present a program on the basics of family history research and outline the information available at Eaton Hall. Jean will explain why genealogy is an exciting, fun-filled, detective-like hobby lasting a lifetime. The Society has an extensive genealogical library, and families researching their roots this past summer were thrilled to find some of the missing pieces to their family trees. |
UPCOMING EVENTS******************* Oct. 12th GMFS Fall Meeting Lois Blittersdorf has been asked to speak at the Green Mountain Folklore Society’s fall foliage meeting at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 12th. The meeting is located in the Old Meeting House north of the water tower on Rt. 7 in Rutland. Lois will bring copies of Royal Barnard’s postcards showing the Sanatorium being built in 1907. In 1917 “The San” was the only care facility for adult tuberculosis patients in Vermont, and the average stay was 141 days. Welcome! New Members
