On March 4, 43 members and guests heard Alan Betts, PhD., explain trends in Vermont climate changes in the past 40 years, and what they indicate for the next 50 years. A Pittsford resident and Society member, Dr. Betts lectures on the subject and is currently president of the Vermont Academy of Science and Engineering.

Please call Betty Atwood 483-9462 or 483-2040 to donate new and used tag sale items in good condition - books, jewelry, tableware, kitchen things, sports equipment, toys, linens, more.

Our award-winning book, "Pittsford's Second Century, 1872-1997" is for sale at Eaton Hall, Kamuda's, Maclure Library, and the Town Offices.

Anyone interested in Pittsford's history is invited to become a member.

Membership chairperson Doris Hoare would welcome calls to her at (802) 483-6470.

Come visit the museum in Eaton Hall to see dozens of family files.

You'll find photos, news clippings, diaries and letters, some dating back to the early 1800s. Jill Corliss's Lothrop School sixth graders made four recent visits to do research for their Vermont history projects. Some worked on their family histories, others looked up Morgan horses, Pittsford women, Floods of 1947 and 1927, and transportation, for example.

We need 8 to 10 volunteers to plan and build an exhibit for the Vermont History Expo in 2008. If you're interested, call Anne Pelkey
